Foreclosures:
Foreclosure activity for 2009 increased in Wyoming over the prior year. There was a total of 717 properties with filings. That works out to a rate of one filing for every 338 households, which compares to the United States average of 45, and is about three tenths of one percent of the state’s housing units.

Those figures represent a 5 percent increase over 2008 and a 101 percent increase over 2007.

In 2008 there were about 10,000 existing homes (including condos, co-ops, and single-family homes but excluding new homes) sold in Wyoming, compared to about 12,900 sold in 2007.

Economy:
Wyoming is the United State's leading coal exporter, producing nearly 400 million tons each year. Other energy and mining interests like oil, natural gas and uranium are also major contributors to the state economy--- more than 10 percent of employment in the state is in agriculture and mining. Major agriculture products include livestock, wool, hay, beets, and grain. Tourism is the other major engine in Wyoming's economy, with more than 6 million people visiting its national parks each year.
